Tulajapur is one of the significant religious places of Maharashtra, it is has the shrine of Goddess Tuljabhavani. It is in Osmanabad District. The nearby big city is Solapur. Tulajapur is 300 kmsfar from Pune; it may take 6 hours to reach Tulajapur road.
Tulajabhavani Temple has 3 entrances named after SardarNimbalkar, Raja Shahaji and Mata Jijau. The mainentrance of the temple is SardarNimbalkardwar. The temple has very large complex,which includes 2 holy ponds and few other more temples than Tulajabhavani. The 2 ponds are Gomukhtheerth and KallolTheerth. The idol of Tulajabhavani is believed to self originated or Swayanbhu. During Pooja, the Goddess is decorated beautifully with golden ornaments and attractive Saree. Tulajabhavani is said to be family Goddess of ChatrapatiShivajiMaharaj. As per legends the Goddess blessed him with a sword.
In Maharashtra the four adobes of Goddess are known as sadhe teen Shakti peethas. Tulajapur is one among the ‘SadheTeen Shakti Peethas’.The other three are Kolhapur Mahalaxmi, Saptashringi Mata and Renuka Mata of Mahur. Tulajabhavani is Kuladevi or family deity of many families in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Goddess isknown with various names by her devotees as Ambabai, Jagadambe ,Tvarita, Tukai and many more.
The temple opens at 5 in the morning. Three times Arati is offered to the deity. Devotees are allowed to watch Arati. Temple closes 10 at night. Special poojas are offered during GudiPadawa, Navaratri and Makar Sankranti. The other temples in premises are Siddhi Vinayak, Aadishakti, AadimataMatangadevi and Annapoorna.

Travelers, Piligrimsvisit this auspicious place round the year, but summers are little humid in this region. During the Hindu festivals the temple will be very much crowed.
