One of the Jyotirlinga temples "Grishneshwar" is located 255 kilometers away from Pune. It took 6 hours approximately to reach here from Pune. The temple is just 25 kilometers away from World Heritage site Ellora. So, one can plan their tour including Grishneshwar Ajanta and Ellora.
A Jyotirlinga is a spiritual depiction of the Lord Shiva. The word "Jyoti" has meaning as light or luminosity and the word "Linga" means the icon of Shiva’. There are 12 Jyotirlingas in Indian subcontinent. All these Shiva Lingas are self manifested o Swayambhu. It is believed that these places are blessed with immense power of Lord Shiva.
Grishneshwar is also called as Drushmeswar or Ghreneshwar. The temple was destroyed by Muslim invaders but it was rebuilt. Again and again it was re destructed during Moghul and Maratha wars. And again it was constructed. The present day temple is built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. The current temple is in south Indian Architectural style. It has five tiers Gopuram. Grishneshwar is smallest of all Jyotirlongas.

Shravan Maas Darshans - 3:00 am to 11:30 pm.
Afternoon pooja - 1 pm.
Afternoon Arati- 12pm
Evening Pooja – 4.30 pm
Evening Arati- 8 pm
Devotees are allowed to watch three times Arati. Male devotee should allow entering the temple without shirts. Female should be in decent attire. You can pre book pooja such as Rudrabhisheka and offerings to the God. During Mondays and in the month of Shravana and Maha Shivaratri temple will be crowed.
As it is a small town, you will not get good accommodation. In nearby place like Aurangabad, which is a district center you can stay.
October to march is the ideal time to visit. If want to avoid crowd don’t visit on Mondays and special festival days.
